What does 120 GSM add over 100 GSM?
120 GSM is where a Double Kissan sheet stops being an occasional-use cover and starts being a working one. The step from 100 to 120 is a 20% increase in material across the whole sheet — the largest proportional jump anywhere in the lighter half of our range — and it is the point most buyers land on when they are not sure which way to go.
If you are undecided between two adjacent options anywhere in the range, 120 GSM is the sensible default to start from: light enough that handling stays manageable, substantial enough that it is not the obvious weak point. Move up to 160 GSM if the cover will be under sustained load or left out continuously.
Who this option suits
Buyers who want one sheet that covers a range of jobs rather than a specialised light or heavy option, and first-time buyers who are unsure which GSM they need.

How 120 GSM compares with its neighbours
| Option | Material difference | What that means in practice |
|---|---|---|
| 100 GSM | −16.7% material | Lighter to handle and lower cost per square metre; less material available to resist wear. |
| 120 GSM — this page | — | Mid-range — the balance point of the six. |
| 160 GSM | +33.3% material | More material per square metre; heavier, bulkier folded and higher cost for the same covered area. |
Material differences above are arithmetic. Measured tear and tensile differences between adjacent options vary by finished product — ask us for the figures specific to the two you are comparing.

Colour is a variant of the same product rather than a different grade. Custom colours can be produced on made-to-order runs subject to minimum quantity.
Getting the size right
Sizing errors cause more tarpaulin failures than weight does. Take the footprint of what you are covering, add twice the drop you need on each side, then add at least half a metre all round for anchoring — height is consumed on both sides, which is why the answer is usually larger than expected.

Questions about 120 GSM tarpaulin
Is 120 GSM tarpaulin good quality?
GSM describes how much material is in a square metre of sheet, not how well it is made. Two 120 GSM tarpaulins can differ significantly in weave, lamination and edge construction. Double Kissan 120 GSM sheets are produced at our own facility in Bareilly under the inspection process described on our quality page.
What is the difference between 120 GSM and 160 GSM?
160 GSM carries approximately 33% more material per square metre. In practice that means a heavier sheet, a bulkier fold, a higher cost per square metre and more material available to resist wear — ask us for measured strength figures specific to these two options.
What sizes does 120 GSM come in?
Standard retail sizes are listed on our Amazon and Flipkart stores. The full standard size list and the custom size limits are being confirmed with the factory.
Can 120 GSM be made in a custom colour?
Custom colours can be produced on made-to-order runs subject to minimum quantity and manufacturing capability. Blue, yellow and transparent are the standard stocked colours.
