Write the specification before you take the quote
Industrial HDPE Tarpaulin for Heavy-Duty Protection
The real problem
A quotation for "heavy duty tarpaulin" is not comparable between suppliers, because the term has no agreed definition. Two quotes at the same GSM can differ in finished dimension tolerance, eyelet material, edge construction and how the sheet is packed — all of which affect what actually arrives and how long it lasts. Without a written specification, price becomes the only comparable field, which is exactly how procurement ends up with covers that fail early.
How an HDPE tarpaulin helps
Buying direct from the manufacturer means the specification you write is the specification that is produced, rather than being interpreted through a trading layer. It also means the same specification can be repeated across orders, so batch-to-batch consistency becomes something you can hold the supplier to.
What decides your specification
-
Material and construction
State that the requirement is laminated woven HDPE. Detailed construction figures — denier, weave count, lamination specification — are confirmed against your enquiry.
-
GSM and its tolerance
Name the GSM and ask for the tolerance in writing. Tolerance is where nominally identical quotes diverge; the Double Kissan figure is confirmed at enquiry.
-
Finished dimensions and tolerance
Specify finished size after hemming, not pre-cut size, and state the acceptable variance.
-
Edge and eyelet arrangement
Define eyelet material, spacing and edge reinforcement rather than leaving them to the supplier's default.
-
Packing, marking and quantity per pack
Specify how sheets are folded, packed and labelled — this determines handling cost at your end and is fixed at order.
Measuring and sizing
Industrial requirements are usually defined by the asset or inventory footprint rather than by a catalogue size. Provide the dimensions of what is being covered plus your required overhang, and have the finished sheet size calculated from that at the quotation stage rather than rounding to the nearest standard size.

Securing the cover
For outdoor inventory held over long periods, specify anchor arrangement as part of the requirement rather than leaving it to whoever installs the cover. Consistent, close eyelet spacing and a defined tie-down pattern give repeatable results across a site and make cover failures diagnosable rather than anecdotal.
On GSM for this application
Tear strength, tensile strength, GSM tolerance and UV specification are the fields procurement usually needs. All four are supplied against a specific enquiry rather than published as generic figures.
Double Kissan sheets for this job
All six standard GSM options are available in blue, yellow and transparent, and any of them can be produced to a custom size. Where a requirement repeats — a fleet, a site, a yard — made-to-order dimensions usually work out better than the nearest standard size.

Industrial — common questions
What should an industrial tarpaulin specification include?
Material and construction, GSM with stated tolerance, finished dimensions with tolerance, colour, edge reinforcement, eyelet material and spacing, packing configuration, quantity per pack and total quantity. Without these fields, quotes from different suppliers are not comparable.
Why do two tarpaulins at the same GSM perform differently?
Because GSM only states the mass of material per square metre. Weave construction, lamination quality, edge finishing and eyelet fixing all affect performance and none of them appear in the GSM figure.
Can Double Kissan supply against a written technical specification?
Yes. Custom production against a buyer specification is standard practice for industrial and export orders. Send the specification with your enquiry and it will be reviewed against manufacturing capability before quotation.
Do you provide test data with industrial orders?
Available testing and documentation are confirmed at enquiry. What is currently published on the quality page reflects only processes the factory has confirmed, and anything not yet confirmed is marked as such.
Send us your measurements
