Tarpaulin Quality & Testing at Double Kissan
Inspection and testing points
GSM verification
A known area of finished sheet is cut and weighed, and the result scaled to one square metre. This is how a production run is held to its nominal figure and its stated tolerance.
Dimensional check
Finished length and width measured after hemming, against the ordered size and the agreed variance.
Water resistance check
A test that establishes how the laminated surface behaves under water — either a named standard method or a defined internal procedure.
Lamination inspection
Checking bond quality and coverage across the sheet, since lamination is what closes the gaps between woven tapes.
Tear strength testing
Measured resistance to a tear propagating through the fabric, which is the property most relevant to real-world cover failure.
Tensile strength testing
Measured force required to pull the fabric apart, usually reported separately for warp and weft directions.
Eyelet inspection
Checking that eyelets are correctly set, correctly spaced and secure in the reinforced edge.
Visual inspection
Checking for weave faults, lamination defects, contamination and colour consistency across the run.
Packing inspection
Confirming count, fold, marking and pack integrity before dispatch.
Method, sampling frequency and acceptance criteria for each check above are confirmed directly for a specific order, with the method named, rather than published as one general standard for every batch. Request specification details.
What buyers should ask any tarpaulin supplier
These questions separate a supplier who measures from one who describes. Ask them of us, and ask them of everyone you compare us against.
What is your GSM tolerance, in writing?
A nominal figure without a tolerance band is not a specification. This is where identical-looking quotes diverge.
Which test method sits behind your waterproof claim?
A named method means something. An adjective does not.
Is testing done on fabric or on a finished sheet?
Fabric-level results say nothing about seams and eyelets, which is where finished covers usually leak.
What is the sampling frequency?
One good sample from a run is not evidence about the run.
What documentation comes with delivery?
Ask before the order, not after the first consignment arrives.
Where our answers stand today
We can answer questions one to five against a specific enquiry, from the factory, in writing. What we cannot yet do is publish those answers generally, because they have not been confirmed for publication. That distinction is deliberate and it is stated everywhere it applies on this site.

Quality questions
What quality checks does Double Kissan perform?
The checks listed on this page are the ones a laminated woven HDPE line can perform. We publish a check as performed only once the factory confirms it, with the method named. Available inspection detail for a specific order is confirmed at enquiry.
Can I get a test report with my order?
Available test documentation is confirmed against a specific enquiry. Our certifications page lists only documents that have been verified.
Why does this page not simply say the product is high quality?
Because "high quality" is not a claim anyone can check. A page that names the specific checks performed, with methods and criteria, is worth something to a procurement buyer. One that does not, is not.
How is GSM verified in production?
By cutting a known area of finished sheet, weighing it and scaling the result to one square metre. Because it is a sample measurement, the meaningful question is the sampling frequency and the tolerance band applied — ask us for both against your specific order.
Need specification detail for a tender or a purchase order?
Tell us which fields your procurement process requires. We will get them confirmed by the factory and sent to you in writing.
