Ten covering problems, ten pages
Pick the one closest to your job. Each page works through the variables that decide the specification for that use.
Agriculture & Farm
Four different covering jobs, not one
Selection guidance →
Truck & Transport
The load is wind, not water
Selection guidance →
Cargo & Logistics
A consumable that has to be specified, not chosen
Selection guidance →
Construction
Abrasion ends site covers, not rain
Selection guidance →
Industrial
Write the specification before you take the quote
Selection guidance →
Machinery & Equipment
A sealed cover can do more harm than no cover
Selection guidance →
Warehouse & Storage
Indoor covers and outdoor covers are different purchases
Selection guidance →
Roof & Rain Cover
Temporary means temporary
Selection guidance →
Home & Monsoon
Small sheets, one person, no tools
Selection guidance →
Camping & Outdoor
A general-purpose sheet, used well
Selection guidance →What changes between applications
Every covering job puts a different kind of stress on the sheet. Recognising which one dominates yours is the fastest route to the right specification.
| Application | What usually ends the cover |
|---|---|
| Agriculture | Abrasion from ground contact and daily handling |
| Truck & transport | Sustained airflow load at eyelets and free edges |
| Cargo & logistics | Handling by rotating staff and mismatched sizes |
| Construction | Cutting from rebar, brick and site materials |
| Industrial | Specification drift between batches and suppliers |
| Machinery | Wear at protrusions, and trapped condensation |
| Warehouse & storage | Wrong cover for the location — indoor grade used outdoors |
| Roof & rain cover | Pooling water and fixings placed below the water line |
| Home & monsoon | Undersizing, leaving nothing to secure with |
| Camping & outdoor | Flat pitch geometry — flapping and water collection |
Why we do not publish a GSM-per-application chart
Those charts are everywhere and almost none of them are backed by test data. Ours will be published when our factory confirms tear strength, tensile strength and UV specification with the test methods named. Until then, each page explains the reasoning rather than asserting a number.
Choosing by application
Does the same tarpaulin work for every application?
Rarely. A cover handled daily on a threshing floor, a truck sheet under airflow at highway speed and a machine cover left in place for a season fail in completely different ways. Sizing, anchoring and contact protection change with the job, and often matter more than sheet weight.
Which GSM is recommended for my application?
Rather than estimate, each application page sets out the variables that decide the choice — load, exposure, handling frequency and fixing method — so you can reason to the right answer for your situation.
What causes most tarpaulin failures?
Three things, in roughly this order: undersizing, so the sheet is stretched tight against its eyelets; concentrated load from anchoring at the corners only; and abrasion from whatever the sheet rests against. All three are addressable without changing GSM.
