Indoor covers and outdoor covers are different purchases
Waterproof Tarpaulin for Warehouse & Storage Protection
The real problem
Warehouses tend to buy one grade of cover for everything, and then find that the yard sheets are inadequate while the indoor sheets are heavier and more expensive than they needed to be. Separately, most sites have no plan for a roof leak until it happens, at which point the only covers available are whatever is nearest — usually the wrong size, in the wrong place, at night.
How an HDPE tarpaulin helps
Splitting the requirement lets each cover be sized and specified for its actual job, and usually costs less in total than standardising everything on the heavier option. Holding a small reserve of pre-sized emergency covers where leaks have happened before turns a scramble into a five-minute response.
What decides your specification
-
Indoor: dust and drip, not weather
Indoor covers face light contamination and occasional water. Handling convenience and size accuracy matter more than sheet weight.
-
Outdoor yard: wind is the load
Yard covers face sustained wind and full sun exposure. Anchor arrangement and generous sizing are the deciding factors.
-
Size to the racking bay or stack unit
Sizing to a repeating storage unit rather than to individual consignments means one cover fits every bay of that type.
-
Emergency reserve
Keep pre-sized covers stored at known leak points. A cover in the right place at 2 a.m. is worth more than a heavier one in the stores.
-
Stack stability
A cover pulled over an unstable stack can pull it over. Secure to the pallet or floor, not to the top of the stack.
Measuring and sizing
Take the footprint of one racking bay or one standard stack unit, add the stack height on each exposed side, then add a securing margin. Standardising on that single size means every bay of that type is covered by an interchangeable sheet — which matters far more in a warehouse than a perfect fit for one consignment.

Securing the cover
Secure to the pallet base or to the floor rather than to the top of a stack, so tension cannot topple it. In open yards, anchor the windward edge first and work across. For emergency roof-leak covering, direct water into a container rather than letting the sheet hold a pool — a cover sagging under standing water becomes a hazard as well as a failure.
On GSM for this application
As a planning principle, indoor and outdoor covers rarely need to be the same specification.
Double Kissan sheets for this job
All six standard GSM options are available in blue, yellow and transparent, and any of them can be produced to a custom size. Where a requirement repeats — a fleet, a site, a yard — made-to-order dimensions usually work out better than the nearest standard size.

Warehouse & Storage — common questions
What tarpaulin should a warehouse use indoors?
Indoor covers are mainly handling dust, bird fouling and occasional drips, so size accuracy and ease of handling usually matter more than sheet weight. Specifying indoor and outdoor covers separately generally costs less overall than standardising everything on the heavier option.
How do I cover a roof leak in a warehouse?
Cover the stock rather than chasing the leak, and arrange the sheet so water runs off into a container instead of pooling on top of it. Keeping pre-sized covers stored at known leak points turns this from an emergency into a routine response.
What size tarpaulin should I buy for warehouse storage?
Size to a repeating unit — one racking bay or one standard stack — rather than to individual consignments. An interchangeable cover that fits every bay of that type is more useful than a perfect fit for one load.
Can covers be supplied in matching sets for a site?
Yes. Custom dimensions produced to order allow a site to standardise on one or two sizes and reorder against the same specification. Quantities and lead time are confirmed at quotation.
